OLYMPOS VILLAGE

Dear Travelers
The ship departs from the port of Pigadia at 8:30am (please arrive 15 minutes in advance) headed for Diafani. When we arrive in Diafani, buses that transport you to the captivating traditional village of Olympos will be awaiting your arrival (the cost is included). The ride takes 20 minutes (9 km), and you spend 3.5 hours touring the village's historic paths and enjoying the local cuisine.
Later, the buses departure is scheduled at 14.00 (if not, the driver will make an announcement when you first arrive in Olympus). Once we arrive in Diafani, you will have 2 hours at your disposal to relax or swim in the crystal-clear waters. At 16:30pm we depart from Diafani towards Pigadia, which we arrive at 18:00.

Olympos is a picturesque village known for its striking black and white architecture, nestled in the heart of Karpathos. Located at an altitude of 310 meters, it sits at the foothills of Prophet Elias in northern Karpathos and offers stunning views and a rich history. The village is accessed from the west via a steep path, while the eastern route leads to the serene beach of Diafani. As part of the Municipality of Karpathos, Olympos is home to 556 residents according to the 2011 census. Historically, it was once part of the ancient cities of Vrykous and Saros, which were abandoned in the7th century due to pirate raids, prompting the locals to seek refuge in the mountainous areas.
